Pulp Painting: A Paper-Making Workshop
In this class, you will learn how to create your own unique handmade paper or, as I like to call it, " Pulp Painting"!
I have taught this workshop many times in South Florida, my students found this class fun, easy, educational, and a creative outlet, and I hope you will too! This class is perfect for beginners, and seasoned paper makers might find some new techniques.
Orizone & Japanese Bookbinding
Explore a traditional Japanese paper dyeing (orizome-shi) and Japanese bookbinding (wahon) technique inspired by Shawna Moulton’s travel to Tokushima, Japan. Create your own beautiful and unique patterned papers and choose one for your handmade book cover. Orizome translates to "folded dyeing" and is a timeless Japanese paper-craft technique that combines “origami'' paper folding and colored pigment dip-dyeing. While the orizome paper is drying, the class will move on to bookmaking and create a Japanese-style notebook to use as you wish.
