Studio Vizcaya: The Fruit We Bear

Building on Studio Vizcaya’s legacy of community artmaking that has drawn thousands of participants since it first launched in 2016, The Fruit We Bear invites Miami residents to collaborate in the creation of the pieces that will be exhibited at the final performance.

These include nine large-scale papier-mâché tropical fruit sculptures. Centered on collective growth, emotional wellness, and shared human values, each fruit represents a core human value: love, joy, peace, patience, hope, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-love.

“Rooted in the symbolism of nourishment, The Fruit We Bear explores how emotional and spiritual well-being — like fruit — requires care, time, and collective cultivation.” Shawna Moulton, Lead Artist for Studio Vizcaya

As participants shape the sculptural forms, conversations emerge through their own reflections, personal stories and affirmations.
